ITB Berlin: The world's largest travel fair

This major event was recently held in Berlin, providing an excellent opportunity for professionals in the tourism industry to exchange ideas and learn about future trends. Despite major strikes affecting airlines, trains and local public transport in Germany, nearly 100,000 attendees flocked to this yearly event.

Versatile Topics

Despite political and financial challenges, people, including young people, desire to continue traveling in 2024. These are some of the insights we obtained from the fair:

• Important topics were sustainable tourism and technological solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI).
• Additionally, a survey showcased that factors such as trying local cuisine, sightseeing, and beach visits play a significant role in travelers' destination choices.
• Interestingly, it was stated during one of the many great presentations that people are willing to spend more money on safe and reliable travel insurance when traveling. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of good travel insurance, and people are keeping this in mind when planning their future travels.
